Charlotte is a nearly six-year-old Clyde x Hackney mare, trained to drive single and double, and green broke to ride. She has loads of potential as a dressage horse, with big, expressive gaits and a comfortable canter. She’s hacked out alone and in company, crossed water, and handled bridges, and she’s not particularly spooky, so she could also make a good field hunter. She can be a bit tricky, being both lazy and sensitive, and is nervous at the canter—understandable since she was taught not to canter. Out of work since summer, she’d need a bit of a restart and is best suited to an experienced rider. While we don’t drive, she could also go back in harness. With her striking markings, she’s technically a Pinto and would also make a lovely broodmare. In the barn, she’s sweet, great for the vet and farrier, loads onto anything, lives out but is content inside, and is an extremely easy keeper. A fantastic deal on a lovely prospect as she really should be in work and not standing around all winter.
