Gorgeous Gelding For Trade! Located near Brighton, CO Git Er Dun Sun, AKA Rapidan, is a 22 year old Registered Missouri Fox Trotter gelding. He's absolutely bombproof and loves to hit the trails! Rapidan is a smooth ride and is gaited, so he'd do wonderfully in a home with someone who likes to cover a lot of ground very quickly. Despite his age, this old man has a ton of get up and go left in him and is a speedy guy, so he is best suited for intermediate to advanced riders. His forwardness could be intimidating for a beginner. He is 100% sound and as sane as they come, but would do best with shoes if going on rocky trails. He has tons of experience with a bunch of different places and has been trail ridden all over Colorado. He's also worked cattle and been in the show ring! If you're looking for speedy, yet reliable and safe, this ol' man is the right match for you! His only downside is that he hasn't been getting on well with my two yearling kiddos (he's an old man and has very little patience for their shenanigans). As much as I absolutely adore this old man, I'm in need of a horse with a little bit less go and a little more whoa, and much more handiness when it comes to helping me break some colts! Rapidan is awesome on the trails and can go all day long, but since I have three others in training (two yearlings and one pony), I need a horse that's a bit more tolerant of the youngsters' shenanigans and is a little on the slower side. He's UTD on all shots, worming, etc. but would need a new coggins. What I'm looking for in a trade: Must be well-broke (No buck, bite, kick, spook, bolt, etc.) Would prefer something a little younger (ten and older is fine so long as they are sound and sane, but will also look at horses no younger than 4 so long as they are well broke) I love horses with a stocky, strong, drafty build (draft crosses of any type are definitely a big favorite of mine) but I am not overly picky on breed so long as it's not a mule (nothing at all against them, but just not what I'm currently looking for right now.) Must be able to pony other horses and be a solid citizen on the trail and in the arena I don't need fancy buttons, but they do need to have a good, solid whoa button on them and need to know the basics of neck reining. Maintenance like shoes or some meds is fine so long as it's manageable and they are able to be ridden comfortably. I LOVE plain bays and chestnuts/sorrels with white socks & blazes, but am not picky on color or appearance. If you're interested, please PM or text me if you have a horse you'd like to trade that might fit the bill. Can provide photos of him upon request! He's UTD on all shots, worming, etc. but would need a new coggins.
