2002 Foundation bred registered dark palomino Mountain Pleasure Horse Royal Commander is available for free to the right home. Romeo is 15.1 hands with a beautiful daisy cutter gait. Has been ridden English, Western, and gaited dressage and shown successfully at local shows. He performs well in a snaffle or curb and is highly responsive to leg, seat, hands, and verbal commands. Have jumped him up to 2.5 feet. He trail rides alone or in a group - happily leads or follows. Taught both my kids to ride. Trailers nicely and is a love bug on the ground, snorts and nuzzles you like he’s trying to have a conversation with you. Easy keeper, never needed shoes, worming, coggins, and shots up to date. This breed’s lifespan averages 37 years, so he has lots if great riding years left (and he loves to be ridden). He is only available because after suffering for 4 years from severe respiratory problems after long covid I have finally given up that I will ever be well enough to consistently ride again. The few times I’ve been well enough to ride over the past few years, he rides like a dream as if he’s had no time away from work. The only change I’ve seen in him since we don’t ride as much is that he fusses and dances when you first tighten the girth. Whomever is lucky enough to get him must commit to making sure he stays on the recommended care for metabolic disorder. He needs one prascend pill daily with his feed and he needs a grazing muzzle spring through fall. Currently I feed him 1 cup of low sugar pellets in the morning and night. Once it warms up he usually just needs some balancer to make sure he’s getting enough vitamins and minerals. Romeo can be turned out with anyone. He prefers being outside to being in a stall, so he will be happy even if you only have a run-in available. Romeo is located near Hershey, PA. I do not have a trailer, so you will need to transport. This is a very special horse and it’s breaking my heart to let him go, so please only indicate interest in taking him if you are serious and can commit to managing his metabolic disorder.
