Tiny Tim is not so tiny. He’s a sweet, substantial gelding with good bone and strong feet. He is barefoot and low-maintenance. For about 10 years he has worked as a field trial horse, and now it’s time for him to find his forever home, as he was previously being rented out. When I first started him in training he was quite shy, but he has blossomed and is now very connected to me. He really is a kind, gentle big guy. He is well-schooled in arena basics: stands quietly to mount, soft lateral and vertical flexion, one-rein stops, walks on a loose rein, leg yields, shoulder-in, flat walk, running walk, saddle gait, rack, and canter. He also does turn on the forehand, turn on the haunches, and sidepasses. On the trail, he is steady and not spooky. He goes out alone or in a group without issue. I’ve taken him to the beach, through the redwoods, and through town. He handles traffic, dogs, other horses, coyotes, deer, bikes, tents, and more with confidence, in addition to all his field trial exposure. He trailers easily, is good for both vet and farrier, and stands quietly in the trailer—even if you leave him there while you go to lunch. He does not rear or buck and very rarely spooks. He can be a bit forward at times, so he is best suited to an intermediate rider on the trail. In the arena, most riders with some experience and the guidance of an instructor could ride him comfortably. I do not want him returning to the field trial world. I’m looking for a home where he will have his own person and receive plenty of attention—he truly deserves that. He is fun, safe, and a pleasure to ride. Please contact me for more information.
