Meet the wonderful Whimsy! This young molly is ready to meet her career coach and go to work!

3 years old, just around 14 hh and still growing, Whimsy has been a delightful menace to have at our facility. She came to us from a less than ideal situation that a client of ours stumbled upon and whisked her away from - but then soon realized that they (the client) were not quite equipped experience wise to take on such a young, green, mule. She has been in training and come a long way - she leads, ties, cross ties, picks up her feet, we have started ground driving and very light riding (mostly to see what she had been exposed to prior to coming to us) and is a really fun critter to work with especially if you know mules! The person who had her prior to my client picking her up did mention she had potentially packed at some point but I can't be sure, though I do think she would do well in that pursuit with and experienced person. She can be headstrong with new folks and is smart as a whip - she can gauge in a matter of a minute whether or not you're savvy and will absolutely test you initially to confirm. However, once she knows that you mean what you say and say what you mean, she's golden, and will truly make a really awesome partner with the right person.

The one major disclosure we have to make, and the reason why she is for sale, is that she will absolutely chase smaller animals with intent. With the mares she has been fine, no issues at all getting along in the herd even if she does test boundaries (she will defer if she's told no by the mares) but we had attempted to place her in a companion home to a miniature mule and she was aggressive enough towards him that she came back to the ranch and we have determined that she will not go to a home with smaller animals than her in the same living spaces.

Up to date on vaccinations, worming, teeth, and feet, really wonderful animal all around just needs someone who understands and appreciates mules in all their quirky glory!!
