13.1h (stick measured) 5-year-old Welsh/Gypsy gelding. This is a true project pony being sold honestly and priced accordingly.
He is broke and goes walk/trot/canter in the arena and schools small jumps. He completed 60 days of professional training last summer and has been in consistent work since. In a structured arena setting, he goes nicely and will even ride bitless and bareback.
When kept in regular work, he is affectionate, people-oriented, and enjoys having a job. He bonds to his person and does best with routine and clear expectations.
However — he is NOT a beginner pony.
He can be mouthy and will bite if boundaries are not enforced. He requires confident, consistent ground handling.
Outside of the arena or in more stimulating environments, he can buck and bolt if not ridden proactively. He does not hack alone and is not suited for trail homes or occasional riding situations. He needs steady work and an experienced rider who understands forward, reactive ponies.
He would be best suited for:
• A professional
• A trainer looking for a project
• An experienced junior working closely with a trainer
• A small adult with solid experience bringing along young horses
He is NOT suited for:
• Beginners
• Lesson programs
• Timid riders
• Casual or part-time homes
Good to lead, load, clip, and stand for the farrier.
UTD on vaccines, dental, and farrier.
No maintenance.
This pony has athletic ability and potential in the right hands, but he requires experience and consistency. Priced to reflect that he is a project.
