Meet Archie — the ultimate people-loving partner. This 18-year-old Off-The-Track Thoroughbred is the kind of horse that forms real bonds with his person. Affectionate, attentive, and incredibly kind, Archie thrives on connection and having a job to do. Forward-thinking and naturally athletic (he was built to run!), he’s an ideal match for a confident young rider who enjoys a little sparkle and responsiveness. He has successfully carried beginner riders in a lesson setting with very light riders and remains calm and steady on the ground. Under saddle, he is soft, sensitive, and beautifully responsive to light cues — picking up exactly what is asked of him. Archie would excel in Gymkhana, poles, barrels, hunters, or advanced children’s lessons. He has experience in both English and Western disciplines, neck reins, has a dressage foundation, liberty background, and has been ridden bitless as well as in traditional tack. He is not spooky, is highly attentive, and genuinely enjoys learning. He does have mild arthritis consistent with his age, which has not limited his ability to stay active and engaged in work. He thrives in a program or home where he can be kept consistently moving and mentally stimulated. Because of his build and athleticism, he is best suited for a children’s or light-rider program. He would also be a lovely candidate for certain therapy settings given his deep bond-forming personality and love of people. If you're looking for a sweet, sensitive, fun partner with heart, work ethic, and versatility — Archie is your guy.
