Offering Dixie on consignment for a client after coming to me for a 30-day refresher. She has been my client’s trail riding partner and just had the winter off. She came back into work like she never missed a day, steady, willing, and happy to have a job again. Dixie is a solid, tanky type of mare that truly wants to please her rider. She is sure-footed and confident on the trail, navigating steep hills, rough terrain, and water crossings with ease, she genuinely loves water. Puddles, creeks, crossings, she walks right through without hesitation. She’ll ride out alone or with others. She will lead if asked, but she’s perfectly content to follow. She can step out and cover ground when you want to move, or settle into a relaxed, enjoyable trail ride. She moves off quietly and stands patiently at the mounting block. She handles commotion extremely well. Dogs and goats running around her while riding don’t bother her. She’s been around it all and stays level-headed. Dixie would be well-suited for a beginner adult rider looking for something steady and confidence-building. While she isn’t a babysitter-type kid horse at this moment, she is forgiving, honest, and the kind that thrives with consistent riding. On the ground, she is just as enjoyable. She stands like an absolute dream, you can park her and she will stand all day if needed. She has been high-lined and does great. She stands well for the farrier (currently shod on all four), self-loads into the trailer, and hauls quietly. She is a perfect citizen in turnout, polite, no aggression, easy to catch. She has great camping manners and is neat and tidy in her stall. She is UTD on vaccines and Coggins, current on dental, and ready for her next home. PPEs are welcome and test rides are encouraged. 🎥 Videos upon request, please reach out to me!
