Fly Free, “Vegas” is a 16.2hh, 5-year-old OTTB mare with a great brain and an easygoing personality. She retired sound from the track in 2025 after only 13 starts and has since been professionally restarted.
Vegas is currently schooling 18” courses with an easy, natural flying lead change. She is a kick ride and more “whoa than go,” making her a comfortable, confidence-building type to ride. She’s straightforward, willing, and continues to progress nicely in a consistent training program. She has no bad habits or vices and has been uncomplicated both on the ground and under saddle.
She stands well for the farrier, loads and trailers without issue, and has been exposed to obstacles including teeter totters and bridges. She is currently barefoot behind with front shoes, and requires no maintenance.
Vegas has the kind of temperament that makes her a pleasure to have in the barn, she’s very sweet, meets you at the gate, and has been suitable for a timid adult rider.
She would excel in a variety of directions including hunter/jumper, eventing, or dressage.
