Lakota Lena is a wonderful, 17 year old grade red dun mare, reportedly out of a Chex Colonel Lena sire. And she looks like him, except she's a beautiful red dun. She's a been-there, done that girl and is quick as a cat. She is cowy, sure footed, quick to turn, has an easy handle, has packed and carried kids, beginners and intermediates thru the mountains. She has won ranch sorting competitions (see video below) and is great in camp (hobbles, nose-bag, highline, etc.). Crosses water, rocky terrain, down logs/trees, bridges, snow. Stands about 14.3 hands and about 1100 lbs. An easy keeper, doesn't overeat, good health and sweet disposition, but can be testy. Would be great for a female rider or "husband's horse"; would be good for a youth rider if they are firm with their riding skills. We've had her 8 years and she's packed into 4 wildernesses. Feel free to call to visit. I just lowered the price from $6000 to $4900 realizing her age is getting up there. I want her to go to a good new owner that'll enjoy her.
