Dolly is one of those rare horses that makes you exhale the moment you're in the saddle — calm, gentle, and genuinely unflappable, she has carried children, older riders, and first-timers with equal ease. A Tennessee Walking Horse, she arrived here after several years as a successful broodmare in Alabama and has been back in regular work since December, rebuilding her topline and fitness. She has seen the ocean for the first time, been ridden past heavy machinery, and hasn't found much in the world that concerns her — her biggest spook on record is a faint flinch at a bird. She trailers well, has good feet, and is an easy keeper on hay and a balancer. As a gaited horse, she does require active riding and regular conditioning to bring out her best movement — she'll default to a pace if left to her own devices — which is why we'd love to see her go to someone with gaited horse experience who knows how to bring that out in her. In return, she'll reward that person with a steady, willing partnership and the kind of quiet trust that's hard to find. I'm an open book and want to find Dolly the perfect person.
