Vegas is a kind, athletic, and extremely honest OTTB mare with a wonderful brain and temperament. She has spent the last 3 years working in a lesson program teaching beginner through intermediate riders and has proven herself to be safe, forgiving, and incredibly reliable. She is currently schooling 2’–2’6” courses comfortably and has free jumped 3’ with ease, showing natural scope and athleticism. Vegas is extremely honest to fences and has never offered a refusal. She is careful with her feet, naturally tries to leave the rails up, and is very forgiving when riders make mistakes. Vegas recently returned to jumping after over a year and a half away from fences and came back quietly, willingly, and confidently with zero drama, which speaks volumes about her mindset and rideability. She has excellent ground manners and is one of the easiest horses I have ever trailered — she self loads, hauls quietly, bathes, stands for the farrier/vet, and is uncomplicated both in and out of the barn. No buck, rear, bolt, or mareish behavior. No vices. She is currently shod in front but has previously gone barefoot successfully. Vegas retired from racing after a tendon injury earlier in life and has since been fully restarted, remained sound, and been successfully used in a lesson program while continuing flatwork and jumping work. She has been fully cleared by a veterinarian for jumping and regular riding. She is quiet and forgiving enough to help build confidence for beginner and amateur riders while still athletic and talented enough for someone wanting to continue developing her in jumpers, lower-level eventing, or as an all-around English partner. Due to no fault of her own, she has been in somewhat inconsistent work over the last year, but she comes back into work calmly and without issue after time off. Vegas is truly a special mare with a kind personality, a great work ethic, and a rare trustworthy mind. Finding her the right home is extremely important to me. Videos available upon request.
