Smarty is an 8 y/o GREENBROKE gelding who is looking for his next new home. He is not a horse for an inexperienced rider/first time horse owner due to him being green and needing miles. He is on the slow legged end of the spectrum, not a rodeo type horse. Smarty excels in experienced, confident hands. Selling due to getting out of horses, no fault of his own. I haven't had time over the past few years to do anything with Smarty, life circumstances changed and so I'm looking for a good home for him. He has just been hanging out, no work/riding at all, seriously interested person understands that he needs time spent on groundwork (he's easy to handle, hauls well, etc.) prior to being rode, at least a couple weeks refresher of getting him used to saddling, etc., again prior to being rode. No pre-purchase rides will be allowed because of the fact that he is green and hasn't had a rider on him in a few years. Please do not ask. Any potential buyer is welcome to spend time working with him in my home arena though, I highly encourage it. He is a willing horse, not mean spirited. He is sane and very trainable. He is a bit busy minded so would do well with a job. His favorite thing to do is getting out and about to see the sites, either just hand walking or riding. He does not have a ton of time on the trails, again, consider him green and would need more exposure, sweaty saddle pads and time but I feel he would excel as someone's trail riding partner. Smarty has always been stalled at night and respects fencing (mine is wood, no hot wire). He did have a mild laminitic episode late last summer/fall; he was shod for comfort and treated per vet recommendations. He is currently sound but cannot be tossed out on green grass. Current x-rays of his hooves in hand and will only share with serious inquiry only. The vet has cleared him for work! Please do not inquire about Smarty if you're in life transition, inexperienced or are looking for a gaming horse. No tire kicker type inquiries. No sale to horse flippers. I will not sell him to anyone who is not willing to come meet him/me in person. I will be picky about who I sell him to. Not selling him just to offload him, I care about him a great deal and care where he ends up. He has a solid foundation to build upon, just needs experienced hands or legged up by a professional. Smarty is being offered for $6500.00 but I may negotiate price if I feel you are a good fit for him!
