Annie is a big, beautiful red mare standing 15.1 hands tall with a picture-perfect conformation! Annie was foaled 8/15/2015 and is registered in the MFTHBA. She is sired by Spinner’s Magic Rhythm by Merry Lad’s Magic Touch by Shannon Lad by Walker’s Merry Lad and out of the mare Fantasy’s Crystalized Sugar by Roho 3-J by Jack’s Sensation H by Merry Boy Sensation. This mare is a definition of “old school” breeding with 9 different foundation MFTs directly on her papers! Annie is a stunning mare with a nice head and neck that ties perfectly into her stout shoulder with a nice deep body and a hip like a quarter horse. For our likes, you just cannot draw one better than Annie! Annie was started lightly under saddle as a 3 year old and 4 year old, has been ridden as a trail horse, and over the last few years she became the primary riding horse for our very dear friend who is a 67 year old rider aside from her training with us. She is a sweet mare that is easy to catch, stands tied, stands great for the farrier, bathing, grooming, clipping, and trailering. Annie does great standing for tacking, bridling, and mounting. She will even come to a mounting block to aid in the mounting or dismounting process and will ride bareback, English, or Western. She will flat foot walk on a loose rein, has a very stylish fast walk that is smooth as glass, and an amazing fox trot. She is very naturally gaited and easy to ride. Annie is responsive to the cues from her rider, will back, neck rein, direct rein, flexes, and works well off the rider’s leg. She has an awesome canter, will even pick up her correct leads, and has a great stop. Annie is a safe mount and can be ridden by riders of all ages, does great in a stall, or gets along great when turned out to pasture with other horses. Out on the trail she is very surefooted, navigates rough/steep terrain very well, crosses water with ease, crosses down timber, and is the kind of mare she will go where asked. She is not a horse that is looking for spooks while being ridden. She does not mind riding out alone or with a group and will ride anywhere within the group. Annie has been hauled to multiple states on camping and trail riding adventures. She is also use to being ridden down the gravel/county roads, is traffic safe, use to being around 4 wheelers, UTVs, and various farm machinery. On the ranch, she has been used checking/fixing fences, moving/pushing cattle, and checking heifers. Annie has also been through multiple desensitization sessions with all kinds of things that could possibly be scary such as balls, tarps, plastic bags, flags, inflatable tube men, leaf blowers, etc.
