We have not owned this mare very long, but I have decided I need to consolidate into one rodeo horse for my daughter. The more we ride this mare the more I like her! She is well bred for running. She is a sweet mare that seemingly wants to please, and wants to find her person to trust and build confidence with. She knows the barrel pattern well, has speed, and has spent time with a quality barrel trainer in her former life. Can get hot in the arena wanting to run, and she’s sensitive, so she'll do best with a confident softer feel rider who knows how to handle some energy. Someone patient that values developing a relationship with her. Was told she has run 18’s and 19’s on a standard, 2D/3D times. I’m sure there is room in there to improve. She is a free runner. You do not have to kick. She comes in a little on the muscle, but does rate. She is actually super quick to rate so you don’t need to jerk on her at all, just have to use your energy. She’ll do best with someone who has a good, strong, and square seat, not anyone who shifts or moves a ton. Quick in the turn. Slow work will be your best friend with this horse. The more you can do slowly the better she'll be. Lots of go in this mare, but does not feel dangerous at all, just ready to go. She’s fun to ride! With the right rider and relationship I’m sure she can excel running barrels, or she can go another direction. Either way, she can make someone a great partner for a long time to come. Was told she also knows the pole pattern. She is responsive, and she does collect and move nicely, working off your legs. Comes back to you, and has a good stop. Has nice lead changes, but currently rushes through them. Not a looky, spooky mare at all, and has definitely been around kids, dogs, farm animals, tractors, quads, etc. Very quiet on the ground. Don’t know her experience with cows, but she is fine around them. We have thrown a rope off of her, but do not know her experience, if any. The gal I bought her from says she's good on trails and felt she could go many directions. She's been camping and swimming. Probably could make some nice babies. I don't have her papers in hand, but I do have a signed transfer form. She does have thin soles and currently has pads on her fronts. Asking what I paid.
