Novice friendly, husband safe horse! 15.1h BIG (wears a size 80 blanket), Friesian-Cross mare, 12 years old, Winterfell is trail savvy, fun in the arena, has great manners and is ready to be a great partner for your family! She’s a good lesson horse also. The GOOD: -Winter neck reins and direct reins, rides English and Western. -she would do great in western dressage and is trained thru level 1 -leg yields, sidepasses, backs easily, turns on the haunches and forehand, knows her leads, soft in the bridle and has a great ‘whoa’. -crosses water, opens gates, stands to mount from either side -can pony off her -friendly and very well mannered -loads and hauls well in any trailer; alone or with friends -easy to catch in the pasture, no vices in a stall -Hotwire trained. Hobble trained. Ties patiently all day. -very sound, recently passed a basic PPE. Current on everything with a fresh coggins The fine print: -she has a very old scar on her right hip, doesn’t affect her - she is bouncy. Her forward trot and her canter are not smooth- post her trot and kinda stand in your stirrups for her canter and she’s pleasant. Her jog is easy to sit and comfy. - she is long. Really it’s more like her legs are short. Her registration papers show she has a copy of the dwarf gene so I suspect she was supposed to be 17h 😂. But she’s very strong and has never been back sore, even with heavy or unbalanced riders. Not saddle picky and easy to fit. -she either needs boots (comes with a pair) or front shoes to ride on hard ground or she’ll get tender -she is on OneAC this summer - I’m being overcautious as she does sweat, I just think she could sweat better … having no issues in this high humidity, I think as long as she has shade or a fan in her stall and a cool rinse after work, she’ll continue to be fine but I feel it’s something to keep an eye on. Winter is beautiful, healthy and really wants to be someone’s buddy! Video: https://vimeo.com/1198512615
