Quick post, formal add to come next week. 6yo, 15.2h pinto gelding (PtHA registered). Leadline/husband trail horse deluxe. He’s slow, sure footed and happy to walk all day. If you’re looking for an athletic speed machine, this is not the horse for you. He has pack horse written all over him, he’s an absolute unit. As wide as he is tall with great size feet. He will walk you down the trail, beverage in your hand, all day long. But he’s not going to be a fancy show horse. He is not fancy broke he can does know a few “fancy things”. Can drive him up into the bridle, he will put his head down and extend his trot. Will draw back and move his shoulders over, will bend around your leg and open his rib cage. He’s solid walk, trot. Will lope off easy but sometimes needs help maintaining the correct lead in the arena. Does better maintaining his leads in an open space, he’s a big horse and small circles can be hard if he’s not in shape. Cons: He’s been sitting. I’d recommend a 30 day tune up before sticking a beginner on him riding solo off into the sunset. But we were leadlining the kids on him today with no issues. He gets front shoes on this week, I will start putting rides on him after. He’s getting front shoes because the ground here is rocky and abrasive, trying to avoid stone bruises and such. He spent 60 days with a trainer over the winter and has been mostly sitting since. He’s been rode here and there since but not consistently. He’s top dog in the pasture. Will stand tied next to other horses all day long. But when food is involved, he likes his space. He does fine with my gelding since he stays out of the way. He is a big horse, he’s on the lofty side of movement. He’s not a rough mover, just a big mover. Listed at 💰7️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ and located in Sisters OR. Will get ground work and riding videos next week. Will be getting rode consistently until sold. Can forward the videos from when he was in training over the winter.
