FV Aurab’zi, affectionately known as Z, is a well-built 15.1-hand chestnut purebred Arabian gelding of old-line CMK heritage with extensive competitive trail and endurance experience.
If you are looking for a seasoned, capable trail partner with thousands of miles of real-world experience, Z is the kind that is increasingly difficult to find.
His accomplishments include one-day 50-mile rides and three-day 100-mile rides, in addition to many years of competitive trail and recreational trail riding. He has seen a tremendous amount of country and has encountered just about everything the trail can offer.
Z is forward-moving with big gaits and is responsive to light cues without being complicated. On the trail he is sure-footed, relaxed and willing. He will ride out alone or with company, is comfortable leading or following, and goes where he is pointed.
He has been ridden throughout his life in a treeless endurance saddle, bitless and without spurs. He has a solid training foundation and responds to subtle aids. Because he is forward and sensitively trained, I would not consider him a beginner’s horse. For a competent, experienced rider, however, he is a very trustworthy and enjoyable mount.
Although Z is 19, his age reflects his experience much more than his enthusiasm. He remains energetic, capable and eager to head down the trail.
Exceptional Ground Manners
Z is calm, gentle and exceptionally well-mannered. He is not pushy or foolish and is genuinely pleasant to handle.
He:
• Ground-ties quietly for grooming and tacking
• Stands well for mounting and dismounting
• Is excellent for the veterinarian and farrier
• Clips and bathes well
• Loads and trailers extremely well
• Has no known stable vices — no cribbing, weaving, biting or kicking
Z is an experienced traveler and has repeatedly made the approximately three-day trip between Vermont and Florida.
He is accustomed to traffic, water crossings, dogs and wildlife. He lives in the country and regularly encounters deer, coyotes and occasional bears around the property.
He has been barefoot throughout his life and has used hoof boots for competition and when terrain required them. He has enjoyed excellent health and is currently on no medications.
Z has lived primarily outdoors with access to an open barn/shelter and is brought fully inside mainly during severe Vermont winter weather.

Z is a registered purebred Arabian of CMK heritage, with old Crabbet and preservation breeding throughout his pedigree.
His pedigree includes important influence from Aurab, Aulrab, Ben Rabba, *Silver Vanity and Abu Farwa. He is 3x4 linebred to Aurab, appearing through Aulrab on his sire’s side and through Ben Rabba on his dam’s side.

I personally brought Z home from his breeder, Fairview Stud in British Columbia, and I gentled and trained him myself. He has been my personal horse ever since.
