Sonitas Golden Chex aka "Douglas" is a 2023 AQHA Gelding who's a stand out reining, cowhorse, ranch riding or roping prospect that the whole family can enjoy!
✅️Stout, safe, sane and youth friendly!
Doug has a solid foundation and is ready to go any direction. Easy uncomplicated ride and a pretty mover. Dougie has a big turn around, stop, lopes pretty circles and fantastic body control. Doug has excellent ground manners and has an awesome willing-to-please attitude.
Doug has a fantastic cow sense and has been started on cattle in the arena and I've ridden him at the feedlot. He tracks them on his own and has great confidence. Dougie has been a personal horse and has helped us start many colts as well. He is very maneuverable and handy for all aspects of ranch work. You can rope off him, open and close gates and great with the flag. Doug has been started in the bridle/ neck reining and is doing very well.
Douglas has been hauled out all over and is the same horse everywhere he goes. He has been trail ridden and is very confident over any kind of obstacles - he will even ride through fire!
Doug has been ridden in the mountains, local trails, lots of swims in the river, on the road, and local events.
Dougie is suitable for riders of all ages and loves to pack kids around as well.
Make sure to watch his video!
Douglas stands tied quieter than a veteran rope horse, hobbles, bathes, clips, loads into anything and backs out of the trailer. Doug has an easy-going gelding personality and gets a long with other horses well. He has even babysat my weanlings and yearlings this year. He stands great for the farrier and has a fresh set of sliders on.
Whether your looking for an amazing show prospect, a handy work partner or a horse for the whole family - Douglas is the gelding you've been looking for! I truly can't say enough good things about him he is an amazing horse.
