Duke is a 7-year-old, 15-hand bay roan Quarter Horse gelding built like a tank with a heart of gold. He has excellent ground manners and is respectful of your space. He stands quietly for grooming, saddling, and bathing and is a pleasure to handle on the ground. Under saddle, Duke is extremely well-broke, responsive, and willing, with all the buttons to make him a fun ride. He spins, turns quickly off his haunches, rides one-handed, and has an amazing stop. He loves to lope around the ring and has a slow, comfortable lope that makes him a pleasure to ride. Duke is handy, athletic, and enjoyable to ride, whether you’re working on maneuvers or simply cruising around the arena. Duke also enjoys getting out on the trails. He will ride through water, ditches, brush, mud, and varied terrain, making him a versatile partner outside the arena as well. On the ground and under saddle, Duke is an extremely sweet and docile horse, but he can be a bit nervous around new people. He has made tremendous progress and continues to show remarkable improvement in his trust and confidence. He may initially be cautious with someone new until he learns that he is in good hands. Despite this uncertainty, he has not offered dangerous reactions such as bucking, rearing, biting, or bolting. He would be best suited for an intermediate to advanced rider at this time. Duke would thrive with someone who is patient, kind, and willing to continue building his confidence. He has so much to offer and would really benefit from a person who will love on him and just spend time with him. With a little patience and a lot of love, Duke will make the right person very happy.
