Project horse free to a good home. Zara has been sitting for a year due to owner's health issues and needs to be restarted. Originally bred for eventing, she is by Hanoverian stallion Pablito out of a TB mare who showed successfully through intermediate level. Zara decided early on that she doesn't do water, so I bought her for hunter/jumpers and dressage. She has beautiful movement under saddle and is extremely balanced and comfortable. Over fences she is more of a hunter type, preferring a steady pace and a lofty jump. She fractured her coffin bone back in 2020, and was rehabbed for a year. She's been cleared for full work without issue since. I had her professionally restarted last year, and after the initial theatrics, she settled back into work well until my own health sidelined me. She has a memory that's better than a lot of humans and is excessively smart. She likes to test out new riders, and is the type of mare that prefers one rider. She is very soft to aids and likes light rein and leg. I rode her in a plain snaffle and even a leather bit for a time, but also always carried a whip. She's not a "hot" horse, but she's smart, sensitive, and has a dominant personality type. She does have her own engine once you get her going and quite a large stride, but you'll never feel like she's running off on you. Not a beginner or timid rider's kind of horse. She will need to be restarted for riding, and I can pass along the info of the trainer who worked with her last year, he did a great job with her in very little time. She's been sitting and looks like a wild wholly mammoth, but she cleans up very nicely. Could be a good project for a young, experienced rider with a limited budget.
