This is a sweet (almost anyone can ride) mare that has retired from farm work at 19yo. She never had 'her own person' and craves attention but can be aloof until you prove yourself to be her friend. She recently came to us as a temporary pasture mate. But it will soon be time to make room for our other horse so Rosie will soon need a new loving home of her own. She is sound with good feet and teeth. Good for farrier and easy loader. Rosie could be a good family pleasure horse. She wants to please recently allowing my entire family (all new to horseback riding) to work her in our huge new round ring. She listened and responded well as each attempted to give her their variation of the basic 'stop, go, turn, backup' commands. Our 6 and 8 yr olds hung over the panels reaching out for her each time she came by. This mare was totally unfazed by their behavior and continued to listen to each new rider. We have given her a tune up on ground manners ('this is my space not yours') and found Rosie to be an easy and willing learner. She is good under saddle and a nice ride. She has the potential to follow her new person anywhere. We will miss her and so will vet each inquiry. Rosie will go only to a good home where she can spend all of her remaining years in a loving environment.
