Brooks was started at 2 years old at an auction yard in Texas. He was one of the workers horses and learned a lot in a short amount of time. He can open and close gates, has a nice stop, and with some refreshment work he will be dialed in for neck reining. He was bought and moved to California and has the same owner since then. She put 30 days professional training on him. The trainer worked on his arena skills, and also trail riding. Brooks knows his leads, and has a very smooth lope. He has been ridden out on busy roads alone and with other horses. The trainer also took him to the mountains and moved cattle for days at a time. He explained that Brooks could work all day and would be well suited as a ranch horse. Last couple years Brooks has been put on the back burner and been sitting mostly. Owner wants to find him a great home where he will be used and have a job. This horse can go any direction. Barrels, ranch work, sorting, trail riding. Not for a beginner rider, as he can get nervous in certain situations and needs a confident rider to help him work through it. He prefers a hackamore, or bosal, can get irritated in with a bit.
