Scout is a lot of fun. He is a sweet, curious horse who wants attention and enjoys being with people. He has trained mostly in dressage, but he was jumped some in the past and has been ridden western, too. In dressage, he has a really strong foundation. He has a balanced walk, trot, and canter, moves off the leg nicely for leg yields, and is obedient for transitions, including walk/canter transitions. He moves forward and comes back. He listens to the aids and never needs anything more than a snaffle. When he was jumped, he had good form and was willing. Scout is a very smart horse and learns new concepts easily. He also remembers his training even if he's had a lot of time off. He'll pick back up where we left off. Scout is sound, with clean legs and no maintenance. He has no vices. He stands tied for hours, is fine with 4-wheelers and dogs running around him, and doesn't spook at tarps, umbrellas, or other scary stuff. When Scout is in consistent work (4 or more days per week), he defaults to being calm and easy going. If he hasn't been worked in awhile and the day is cold, he can be frisky--nothing too naughty, but enough to make him not suitable for a beginner. He would excel with a serious amateur, especially one with a trainer. I am selling because I have a full-time job, am raising a young child, and plan to have another child soon. I cannot keep him in consistent work. Finding a good home with the right match is important to me. Video: https://youtu.be/-PuuI6enGsw
