Track broke but unraced (they kicked him out before he was even tattooed). Was broke as a 5-year-old to WTC and jump small courses.
Ended up on the back burner for a few years until I purchased him as a project 2 years ago. I’ve unfortunately not had the time to bring him along at the rate he could have been, but he does solid training level dressage work although he’s been out of regular work at the moment and is a bit unfit and inconsistent in the bridle until he gets a few weeks of regular work under his belt again.
With a few weeks of schooling he should be back at it and I think would easily be ready to start schooling first level in the next few months with a rider with more time and consistency.
He hasn’t shown much interest in jumping, and neither do I, but he is capable. I have some photos from cross country schooling when I first got him. He doesn’t have the heart for running and jumping to event, but he’s capable and willing enough for the average person who wants to jump a bit for cross Training purposes and occasional fun.
I just don’t think he would love to jump as his main job - although with a rider who wanted to go that direction - who knows?
He hacks out alone and in groups. Is traffic safe, and has been used to pony other horses. I could see him possibly liking to fox hunt in third, maybe second flight if he took to jumping.
He’s quiet, safe, and can take a joke, but he expects a competent rider with decent basics in three gaits. Would be great for an adult amateur or taller teenager. He’s a big boy, so I wouldn’t suggest him for a smaller child. To me, he is the absolute definition of an amateur’s horse.
He LOVES his person and bonds quite strongly. He has a quirky, funny, puppy dog personality and deserves someone who will spend time doting on him. Loads, clips, bathes. Has been off property to several dressage schooling shows, lessons, clinics and cross country schooling. Just a general all around good guy with endearing quirks that someone could really enjoy, with the potential to be competitive if that were your preferred direction.
His person doesn’t need to be a stellar rider, but should be a savvy horse person. Has excelled by limiting his grass intake and correcting a Vit E deficiency. Enjoys regular bodywork sessions and is particular about saddle fit so I’d like to see him go somewhere that will keep up with the lifestyle to which he’s become accustomed. PPEs welcome and I’m happy to share the past two years of vet records. Flexed mildly positive (1-2) on the r stifle - injected his stifles last November.
His video was taken of his first ride after a month of doing absolutely nothing, and he’s been out of much work beyond occasional walk/trot hacks for about 6 months. He’s being ridden by a trainer until sold and his price will become mor
