Located in Athol, Idaho.
Mesa is a dark bay 7 year old appendix quarter horse mare. She is 16.2 hands. She could be registered but it never mattered to me so I didn't do it, but know the breeder. She is in your pocket, first to the gates, comes to a whistle and neighs at you when you walk out the door. She has been ridden extensively in the mountains as a lead horse and pack horse. She's done many pack trips into wilderness areas in Montana and Idaho. She highlines and respects electric while camping. I don't bother to turn the electric on. She will pack anything, deer, elk, old dogs that can't keep up anymore, you name it. She will cross bridges including swinging bridges, crosses water, mud and logs. We have swam her in the ocean and also in the lakes here. She has been ridden mostly bareback and Western but has done a small amount of English as well. We don't do a ton of arena time but she neck reins, moves off your leg, and side passes right up to the gate. We ride in town often to go out to eat, get groceries etc. She has no problems with traffic, loud noises etc. We've flown kites off her, thrown a rope, carried flags, and drug things off her. She loads and hauls great. Easy to shoe and good feet. Mesa is a sensitive horse. A rough hand would ruin her. She really feeds off the rider therefore needs an intermediate or up rider. If you are confident so is she. If you are timid so is she. She went through a grumpy phase and light bucking for a short while but has been her normal happy self after the chiropractor adjusted her. She has not offered a buck or anything since. She has a scar on her back leg from getting smooth wire fence wrapped around it. She is completely healed and sound but it's ugly. Mesa is a great horse but hubby wants a Shire. Please be patient with me if you message me. I work in the woods and am in and out of cell service. I will respond as soon as I can.
