Martin is a 15yo 16.1h chestnut TB gelding. He is a sweet, well-mannered boy who will do anything you ask for as long as you want as long as a few treats are involved. Push ride, not spooky, can be left alone for a week and come back into work without any issue. W/t/c, lunges, trail rides. Great ground manners. Good on crossties, single tie, and to work around in his stall. Trailers well. Behaves well for farrier, vet, and dentist. He’s perfectly happy to be in his stall alone but he gets along well with other horses and does fine in turnout. His only vices are not liking to be bothered while he’s eating grain in his stall- he’ll make mean faces at you (but doesn’t bite) and being a little fussy about having his mane pulled (no devices or drugs necessary, just patience).

Martin does have navicular changes in his front feet that require him to have some special shoeing and feed-through maintenance to keep him comfortable. Xrays available to view. He is suitable for regular light work and would be happy to have an easy lifestyle. He is well-trained as a hunter jumper horse and has good potential for dressage (he has at least a light background in it already.) For someone willing to put the investment into him, he is probably a good neurectomy candidate and that would likely fix the majority of his soundness issues for the rest of his younger years before earning a full retirement. He was previously a lesson horse, so he has the demeanor for beginners, adult amateurs, kids, camp, or a therapy barn. He is up to date on everything.
