“ Juan Carlos” is a 17.1 hand tall, 13 year old, Percheron cross gelding. They don’t make them like this guy very often.
Juan is a gem in the barn. He has no bad habits, and he is an easy keeper. He stands well on the crossties to be groomed, tacked, etc. He is safe with kids and dogs running around his feet. Juan goes out with a mixed herd and he is easy to catch. He loads and clips with no problem. He has been full body clipped for fox hunting and he’s wonderful for it he will fall asleep while body clipping.
Under saddle Juan is safe and versatile. He rides english, western, bareback and anyone can ride him. On the trails Juan is brave and goes absolutely anywhere you ask but also loves to follow and doesn’t mind being left behind. He is not spooky, super easy to handle and loves to explore. He crosses bridges, loves water, and will be your best friend. In the ring Juan will walk, trot, canter and jump a course of fences with no problem. He has comfortable gaits. He has schooled over eventing courses and loves riding cross country. Juan has also been shown in the hunter/jumper Lightly and locally and has had extensive dressage training. He’s very soft to leg and hand cues and will move off both and frames up very easily.
Juan has also been foxhunted and does great first or second flight. He is super fun to ride as he so simple and laid back. He is traffic safe. He has done paperchases and hunter paces and loves those as well.
