Ellie is Microchipped, and her Registration with the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry including DNA is pending.
Sire is: D+ ELKO -1503
Dam is: CLAYBANKS LENA -1583
Ellie is UTD on shots, worming, feet, teeth, etc. Ellie's teeth were power floated Nov. 2019 by Dr. Sundholm who is a certified equine dentist (which I believe there are only 2 in the Portland area)
Ellie stands 14.0 hands and approx. 1100 lbs. (Very Stocky build) 12-year-old Canadian bred Fjord.
She is an easy keeper, with a fabulous calm temperament, loves attention, willing to do anything, loads, hauls, bathes, stands for farrier, loves to jump, loves the trail rides, loves the water. What can I say she is excellent with everything. She is a fast learner and very willing. She just finished up a 45-day tune-up training session in southern Oregon with our natural horsemanship trainer as she has not been ridden much the last year. We just brought her home on August 17th and she is super fit and ready to go to her new home!!
I purchased Ellie in March of 2013 (Before that, she had not been handled much at all). Soon after, I sent her out to be professionally broke with Natural Horsemanship. She came back home, and within a few months, my husband became extremely ill. For the next 4.5 years, Ellie, along with everyone else, was a pasture pet.
Ellie is an in the pocket pony type, although she is not for a beginner child unless she would be in a training program. When we lead line, my grandchildren, she is incredibly careful and aware of her feet, it is like she takes baby steps especially when they were small and wobbly.
Fjords are powerful strong horses. You see Fjords, have a work mentality, and are generally forward and can be stubborn at times. Ellie goes English or western. Primarily she has been ridden English and jumped. We trail ride her western. FYI, our background is Hunter/Jumpers. She would be fabulous as an eventing prospect, hunter jumper prospect, dressage prospect, 4-h, OSET, barrels, reining, and cows and Llamas do not bother her. What I am saying is that she could go any way you wish. She has never had any health issues all her life, and she would have no problem passing a vet check. She has always been barefoot and has great tough hooves. Ellie loves living outside 24/7 and roams 46 acres with my other 5 horses.
Here are some video links. There are 15 video's on my YouTube page. Go to YouTube and search Barbara Prueitt and then go to my playlists and you will see the videos of Ellie. I also have a bunch more photos on my portland craigslist list ad.
Sorry, she will only go to an approved home.
