Basil is a 9 year old Gypsy Vanner gelding. He currently walks and trots well under saddle, lunges (on a line or at liberty), backs, turns on the forehand, and is beginning to learn to leg yield. He also has a beautiful, comfortable western jog. He is working on flexion and acceptance of the bit. Cantering on the lunge line is improving--and he cantered today (January 9th) under saddle (see new videos)!

Basil really enjoys trail riding--and he knows he's good at it. He loves to bush-whack, and will go through water. His trainer calls him a "tractor" out on the trails! He is also a very funny guy--he sticks his tongue out and chomps his teeth to ask for a treat. He adores being pampered and groomed. He's great for the farrier and vet.

Basil deserves a great home--where he'll be loved. He is looking for a skilled confident rider to take him out into the world and introduce him to all of its wonders.
