Seven is a grade paint gelding that is a blast to ride. This guy stands around 16 hands. He is around 18/19 years old now. He was previously used as a head horse for roping. But we only ride him out on the trails and for fun. We also use him as a safety horse when riding downtown Sacramento or whenever we need a good solid minded horse to lead the youngsters. This guy has a big motor. But he’s very easily controlled. He will kick climb a mountain for you if asked. But is also good to just mosey down the trails. He has a lot of buttons. Neck reins. Moves off the leg. Good ground manners. He can sometimes be a little forward on the way home. But nothing crazy. You can ride him in any type of bit. I can hop on him bareback with just a halter and lead rope. He does best with front shoes on. Good out on the trails. Good in the city. Good for baths. Good with other horses. Goes in water. Tacks up easily. Ties all day long. Just a good all around horse that can do pretty much anything you ask. If ridden consistently, he has even been good for confident beginners. Otherwise I’d say he does best with intermediate on up type of riders. Because he was used his whole life as a “working” horse, he is not the “in your pocket” type. He will work his heart out for you all day long, and then when put up, is happy to be left alone. He does like to get a good brushing. He is a nice reliable horse that is fun to ride. Have plenty of pics and can get videos if requested. We sold this guy a couple years ago. But owner now cannot afford all her horses. So she brought him back in the hopes we could find him his next riding partner. He is still putting on weight, and we will be getting his feet done asap.
