Tres is very dear to my heart and I am in no rush to sell him unless the perfect home comes along. I got him straight off the track as a 5yo and restarted him myself. He took to endurance riding like a fish to water and we clocked him keeping up a 14mph trot on one of our trail rides and it is effortless and easy to post. He loves going to trails and will load in any trailer, ride with any horse(s), and lead, travel mid pack, or hold up the rear. He is barefoot with solid, healthy feet we worked years to develop and traveled mountainous rides with zero discomfort. Although I do have a pair of Renegades for his fronts I put on for unforgiving terrain. He is started in jumping training but I lacked time to continue it, he has jumped up to 3’8” and has the ability and scope to do more, he loves jumping and loves grids. With the right rider he will go far. I am a jockey, which means I base out of racetracks. I broke him to be a pony which he is fantastic at - off the racetrack. He struggles to understand he is no longer racing and although he has been great for the most part, he struggles in high stimulation situations to remain calm and focused. He simply is not happy nor is he so reliably honest and proofed at the racetrack, which leads me to start seeking out a new home where he does not have to be a part of it any longer. He ground drives, drags tarps/bags/etc play with whips or umbrellas around him he doesn’t care. He needs a soft handed, balanced rider that is confident in their ability to partner up with and burn up the endurance trails, jump circuits, or whatever direction they may go. He knows basic dressage through training levels, but I suck at dressage and never asked him to do more than the basic necessities to start in jumping properly. He’s had green riders on him and took fabulous care of them, but long term I don’t believe that is in his best interest and he simply doesn’t enjoy it. A one on one team is what he loves, and he craves the close intimate bond with his one person. For his person, he will do anything for. Currently, he has had a lot of time off as I am no longer asking him to pony at the racetrack, he is bored and needs to have a job, but I feel it is also very important for him to get to know his new person through groundwork and bonding, he does not have a mean bone in his body, my first ride ever off the track on him was on the trails for the first time and in a halter and tied lead rope. He was lovely. He is also a fun loving athlete that sometimes wants to play and occasionally jump around when he is fresh-fresh. He has no buck, no bite, he stands for bathing (although will paw if you aren’t getting after him for it), stands for trims and I have at times not even caught him to trim him he is a gentleman, he stands tied for as long as you need him, hauls great, highlines, and goes camping. Free lunging he knows jump, come, walk on, trot, canter, and whoa. He is a cookie MONSTER and loves bee
