Charlie is our 9 year old registered Belgian gelding standing at 17 hands on the mark. He is registered with the BDHCA, sired by Phinney's Master's Mike and Southridge Naven Madison. He has both an american number and a foreign number from when he was imported.
He is broke to all farm machinery, driven in a team and worked single in the garden. He is good with traffic when driven on the road and quite used to big machinery all around him. He stands good to hitch and waits for you after he's harnessed. He turns, stops, and backs with ease in the cart. Ties very well and loads easily.
Charlie is very trainable and picks up on new things quickly. He is started under saddle and coming along very nicely. Once he figured out what was being asked of him under saddle he took to it quickly. His first rides were out alone and he has since ridden with another horse and additional rides out by himself, he's happy to go either way! His riding has included a few trails and crossing creeks!
If youre looking for a solid addition to your team Charlie is your guy! He would make someone a nice pleasure driver too or trail horse with a little more time in the saddle. He has never been shown. Charlie would be best for an intermediate driver or an experienced rider if someone wanted to bring him along further under saddle. He would be quick to progress and finish under saddle.
