“Cooper” is a gorgeous 12 yr old, 14.3HH, Palomino Paint all around gelding that rides both English and Western. He has tons of eye appeal and very athletic. Good minded gelding that is easy to get along with. Previously his background started as being a ranch horse. He is familiar with and has done all aspects of ranch work: sorting, doctoring cattle, and checking fences. He rides great out alone through the pastures and trails as well as he does in larger groups. He crosses water, big logs, goes right thru mud and thick brush. Handles all kinds of rough and steep terrain with no issues. He is responsive and listens well to his riders cues. Big stopper, has a nice neck rein and back up. Moves off and understands leg and bit pressure. He is going to be a very nice open show or 4H all around gelding. His athletic ability, plus his willingness and easy going demeanor have made it very easy to introduce new things to him. He loves to jump and has been a natural riding English. He picked up on his lead changes very quickly and is doing great. He doesn’t get bored riding and working in the arena and really would make a nice lesson horse for a program. He is also going to be competitive in all the western events plus ranch riding classes. Cooper doesn’t have any vices or bad habits. He has been turned out on pasture 24/7. Currently we do stall him part of the day, and we have kept him sheeted this spring to get him ready for the local shows. He ties and cross ties with no issues, and stands quietly for the farrier, grooming, bathing, and tacking. We do strive to spend time working or just messing with our horses everyday. There have been time where we have been out of town a week or more at a time and even sitting, Cooper has never missed a beat with his riding. He loads and unloads easily in the trailer, and has been right smack in the middle of the pecking order turned out with a mix herd. He is not a fighter or instigates problems. He has always been healthy and sound not requiring any type of maintenance. Cooper is is a great all around horse that is going to fit a wide array of people looking for their next horse. He definitely has the look but the best part about him is his mind. It has been great to work with a smart, willing, and good natured gelding that wants to please his rider.
