Motley 2011 Chestnut mare Jockey Club Registry: Miss Nightlinger Around 15.3 hands Barrel horse/Gymkhana mare Confident beginner with an experienced family or a trainer No lameness issues Easy keeper- currently alfalfa/ grass hay mix Fort Morgan, CO Motley is a beginner friendly gymkhana mare with an experienced family. She likes kids and was ridden by an 8-year-old girl for a long time. She knows all of the patterns. She leads well and has good ground manners- sometimes a little pushy but can be corrected. She lunges each direction. She was a bit spoiled and tends to sometimes take advantage over time and needs a correction reminder from time to time. She is usually a little fresh in the spring and could use a stronger rider at first. She stands tied- we have not seen her buck or bite. She does not usually need spurs, unless the beginner is small. She can be heavy on the bit at times. She can act cinchy but gets over it real fast if you put her in her place. She has been barefoot, but if she is going to be ridden consistently then will probably benefit from front shoes while being worked. She will trot or lope the pattern. She has never been pushed to her potential. She would be a great one to grow with, as she has a lot of speed potential. She is a big girl and a powerhouse. She also has potential to learn other disciplines. She does take her leads and backs. She has started work on side passing and has been working on leg yielding but needs more time. She has done some work on other disciplines- showmanship and some western events. She could very easily get more training for an all-around horse and she would show really well in English events. She is a big girl and likes her food- tends to push others out. She is fine with blankets, fly boots, fly mask, fly spray, baths. She will stall but loves to be turned out in pasture to stretch her legs. She does not like riding in a regular size trailer, it makes her nervous. She does better with a tall trailer. Do not know of any health issues at this time. She has received some chiropractic treatment in the past and had a sarcoid removed. She is current on her vaccinations, floating, and coggins. Some home videos of her trotting and slow loping some gymkhana patterns available.
