4 year old tobiano bay approximately 14.3 hand mustang gelding. Riggins has had 10 months professional training with Shamus Haws of Tooele Utah. He has been in active training since April 2022. Knows his way around ropes, cows, bison, flags, tarps, dogs and large machinery. Can track a cow but isn’t aggressive with cows. Loads in a 2 horse slant load or larger trailer as you throw the rope over his back. Gets along well with other horses and is a low drama kind of guy. Downward transitions are his strength. Side passes well, knows his yields. Nice slow canter with no drama. He has more whoa than go but is responsive to cues. Stops and backs using your seat. He has had long days pushing cows on the mountain in rough terrain. Picks up his feet well and bathes well. He is stout and has big hard hooves and has done very well barefoot. He is sound. Overall he is introverted but he has a high play drive with other horses in the pasture. Under saddle there is no drama with other horses. Goes out fine on his own or in a group. He rarely spooks and comes down quickly afterward, though a few times he has scattered when under saddle and this 56 year old rider has been unsuccessful riding it. Since he has been back with his trainer he has been doing fine. For an experienced rider he has a lot potential and is a rare find with good size, good looks and a solid professional education from the talented Shamus Haws.
