Companion Horse looking for a new pasture Located Whidbey Island Meet Reba, A TWH mix 15.2 HH and estimated early twenties We purchased Reba from the Eugene Auction back in July of 2022 in hopes to use her as a trail riding horse. Unfortunately after sending her to the trainers we found out she has arthritis in her left rear and cannot be ridden on sloped surfaces. We decided after she would turn up lame riding in a level arena at a fast gait, to retire her from riding. You can’t tell she’s unsound at the walk, gets up and down very easily, and enjoys frolicking in the pasture. What’s make her sore is anything faster than a walk. The good: Reba gets along great with other horses, she’s low on the totem pole Ties as long as you want her to, super quiet Loads right into the trailer and is very quiet once she’s in it. Easy keeper, had to put her on a diet! Her teeth are great and just got floated again in October (she’s been floated twice since we’ve owned her) Amazing for the farrier, her feet look great and is barefoot Has an awesome thick tail and mane, great to play with and braid! Will let you fly spray and bathe her easy Ponies really nicely Likes in hand walks through the woods Low maintenance besides the equioxx The bad: She can be caught, though she makes you walk out to her, she will do a small circle then finally stop and let you halter her. She’s gotten way better about this since we’ve owned her. Arthritis, we’ve been using Equioxx to help her. Bone spur in the left hind fetlock Stifles had an effusion and are weak - we did not evaluate the stifles any further than that. Happy to provide all health documents to interested parties $300 negotiable to the right home! A good home is a must and more important to us than money. All her blankets and her halter are included Willing to also trailer her to the new home for a hauling fee
