Journey is a grade Appaloosa mare apx. 10-11 years old (I bought her in 2020 with a vet approximating her age to be 7-8) I have come to the decision to sell her because she needs more excitement in life than what I can give her. She and I have clicked well on the ground, but not so much in the saddle. She is not your just walk, trot in an arena type horse. She needs a job with lots of variety. For the past 2 months, she has been ridden by an advanced, confident rider in both arena and trail work and has done fabulously. We have discovered she loves to jump and has shown herself to learn new things very quickly. She’s been worked at the walk, trot and canter, but still needs work to be balanced. Last week, she was ponied with another horse out on the trail and was quiet and confident, enjoying every minute she was out. She settles right in to her surroundings while on the trail and would make a good trail horse for a confident rider. She loads and backs out quietly. She bathes with a little complaining, but will relax quickly. She stands quietly for the farrier and the vet and just had a vet exam (11/20/23) and is UTD on all shots. She has been barefoot the last 3 years I have had her and she has never had any issues with her feet. The only thing she still needs a lot of work with, are the clippers. I would call her green and still in need of work with a solid, confident, advanced rider. She can become nervous and unsure if she is being ridden by an unsure rider. With a confident rider, Journey will do just about anything. I will only sell her to an intermediate to advanced rider. The best situation will be with someone who will work with her with the mindset that she will have valid opinions and will need to be gently worked through them. She needs exercise on a regular basis and will get bored with just walk, trot arena work. She does have a very fast trot and loves to go fast (though I don’t know how she would do at gaming, but I’m guessing she’d love it.) There is a YouTube video of her and I can provide more video upon request. A PPE would be at purchaser's expense. I have her latest vet/vaccine documents available.
