17-19 year old Tennessee Walker/Paso Fino trail mare. Selling due to wanting to get back out of gaited and get a gelding again. Pros: Loads like a dream! Bombproof trail horse, no spook, buck, rear, bolt. Easy keeper. Barefoot. Rides out alone or in a group. Well behaved for the farrier and dentist, no kick or bite, did not need sedation when we had her teeth done in the spring. Cons: Very forward, might intimidate an apprehensive rider/beginner. (She usually starts out rides like a freight train but generally settles within the first mile or so, nothing dangerous or out of control, she just really wants to go.) Would highly recommend someone confident but patient for this mare, I believe there has been abuse in her past so she benefits from a rider that takes the time to bond with her and earn her trust. We’ve worked on it a lot this year but I haven’t been working with her through the winter much, she might be a little rusty on standing tied. She does not set back, but she sometimes paws and swings back and forth if she’s feeling impatient. Possibly entertaining trades at this time but I’ll be honest, I’m going to be picky if we do a trade. I don’t want anything gaited and I don’t want another mare. Looking for a young gelding with a good disposition and definitely want something taller, at least 15 HH. If it needs more miles and fine tuning that’s perfectly fine, but I do not want anything dangerous, bucking, rearing, bolting, kicking, etc. I realize I won’t be able to trade my almost 20 year old for a dead broke 4 year old, but maybe somebody doesn’t want the challenge of a stubborn 10 year old, I’m just throwing it out there. Might be able to do partial trade but the purchase of my next horse is very dependent on me selling Luna first.
