Krymsun Camo Splash, a 7 year old registered overo bay roan paint, is up for consideration. Prim, as we call her around the barn is a very sweet, friendly, and playful mare. She has one of the sweetest personalities I’ve come across, but on top of that is her gorgeous disposition and unique color. This mare turns heads and gets compliments everywhere and every time. She has been with us for the last two years, bought in Oregon then brought down to southern Nevada with us when my family moved. She hauls great, backs out of a trailer, clips, bathes, stands for farrier, lunges, and LOVES to be groomed. She will meet you at the gate, walk right up to you when it’s time to catch her, and loves to “help” with chores by chewing on your rake or pulling the hose out of the water trough. She is not being advertised as a kids horse but she is trusted enough for my 2 year old to sit and walk around on her. Prim is very personable; she wants to be your friend, and she wants to please. Take her through her next step in training whether that’s performance, barrels, or whatever you want. Or take her home and set out on the trail with or without other horses. She tends to be a little nervous in new situations so she needs a calm, confident, and experienced rider. That nervousness comes out as being a little spooky but she has never bolted or ran off, she just gets a little tense and jumpy but is still very respectful of personal space. Prim has been in many different environments, and terrains. She’s been to a couple gymkanas, a barrel race, high school equestrian practices, seen cows, and is ok around dogs and small children. She’s ridden on the beach, up mountains, through water, and now in the desert. Prim stays in our backyard and is therefore exposed daily to all sorts of things such as bikes, pool noodles, sudden loud noises and movements, bubbles, blankets flapping in the wind, and whatever other crazy things that toddlers do and play with. She has a couple small scars on her legs that were there when I bought her, they have never been a problem and have never bothered her. She is very soft, and supple to the bit, leg cues, and seat cues. She is responsive and attentive in the arena, then she can head straight out for a trail ride on a nice loose rein and bob along any direction on or off a trail. Prim’s original breeder said it’s possible she is homozygous for roan. Both sire and dam were roans and sire has one copy of sabino 1 and is nd1/nd2, which makes that cool tail stripe. Sire is also n/n 5 panel. She’s a maiden mare but shows signs of strong maternal instincts. Life has forced me to make the decision to sell the best and keep the rest. I’ll be sad to see this mare go, but also excited at the possibilities she’ll bring to the table with the right person. Vet checks and transportation welcome at buyer’s expense.
