Speedy is one for the whole family! He is the sweetest, kindest soul who loves his people. He will stand to be groomed all day, first to be caught in the pasture, excellent ground manners, stands for saddling, bridling and mounting. His kind eye says it all! This solid gelding has a soft neck rein, side passes, good stop and back, he willingly goes forward but never presses to go faster than his rider asks. Speedy helps a greener rider in the arena find the correct leads at the lope and will slow jog for confidence building as long asked. He is also an excellent trail horse! No spooky or worried but fully confident, solo or in a group. Speedy is happy to be first, last or in the middle. He is not phased by a horse crowding his space or loping up behind him. Speedy is steady in rough, rocky or steep ground, where you need him to take care of a rider. He crosses water and bridges willingly. He has also been ridden to town, traffic, barking dogs and bikes are no trouble. This gelding rides bareback, in a halter, double and after months of lay off without any issues. No need to lunge him before getting on. No buck, bolt or rear. He has been ridden by beginners, used for lessons and is ridden weekly by youth riders.
