Mina: 2014 16.1 hand Quarab/Morgan mare. Barefoot and sound, easy keeper, broke for a confident rider, no buck, bite, kick, or rear, lots of trail experience. Mina is a 10 year old mare out of a registered Quarab with Peppy san Badger and Remington Steele bloodlines (dam's papers in hand), and the gaited Morgan stud Bucksnorts Silver Eagle. Mina's 16.1 and about half of that's legs! She's fit as can be and recently came back from professional training where she was described as a "machine". If you're looking for a horse to kick back and drink a beer on, she ain't it. Mina has three speeds: power walk, smooth-as-butter trot, and Cadillac canter. She has an amazing work ethic and - while she isn't gaited - she can keep up with anything you ride her out with. She's been camping at Shawnee, Hoosier National, and many local trails, and she eats them all up. Traffic safe! Leads, loads, ties up anywhere, lunges, and parks at the mounting block. She has the stamina of a camel, the speed of a Thoroughbred, and the sure-footedness of a mountain goat. If you enjoy a horse with a big motor, this girl is wicked fun! I've ridden this girl for 4 years with zero worries and used her to lead kids around the yard. She's not mean in the slightest. She's in your pocket; she'd live in the house if you let her. She's never once offered to buck, bolt, or rear, but she'll snort, blow, eyeball, and prance. Due to that and her speed I wouldn't recommend her for a beginner. As long as you are confident enough to know she is just being a dingbat, you'll be fine! I've ridden her in groups and we've gone out alone a lot as well. She neck reins and rides in a hackamore. Great steering and good brakes. She does have allergies that require extremely light maintenance (10 mins/day, $17/month), but as long as you keep up with her regimen she has no limitations and is asymptomatic. Vet checks are more than welcome! Besides mild allergies she's the easiest keeper; great feet and stays sleek on air. This is not an easy decision, as I truly adore this horse. She can be a little hot and nutty, but she has a heart of gold. If you treat her right she will give you every ounce of her heart and make your family her family. Only reason she's for sale is that I need something slow and steady to ride with my kids. I'd love to see her go to a home with a good sense of humor and a job for her to do! She'd be an amazing prospect for endurance, contesting, or even english sports. I just want to see her somewhere her athleticism is an asset, not a hindrance. We are (quite literally) holding her back. Price is negotiable within reason to a great home. Would love to have a first right of refusal in place so she never ends up in a rough spot.
