I've been on and off the fence about rehoming Portia for several years, to no fault of hers. She had many years of professional training and was shown before we purchased in 2016. Portia has tons of training (lots of buttons). Up until this past year (only ridden half a dozen times or so since last Summer) I've had girls/women (mostly novice/intermediate riders) over to ride Portia for the fun of it (fair weather riding). She's definitely being underused and has so much potential going to waste. Gorgeous mover and athletic. She was trained thru second level dressage, and been shown Hunter Pleasure, Halter Classes+ by previous owner/trainer. Portia is a well-bred and high-quality Mare. Own Daughter of Champion Stallion 'Justafire DGL' a producer of accomplished show winners, and Granddaughter of Numaa++ (on Dam's side). DNA typed and Sweepstakes Nominated. Portia was evaluated on her conformation and movement as a prospective PSG, National level horse by international Judges (valued at $25,000 when she was younger). Easy keeper. Doesn't require special care or extra maintenance, medications, injections, etc. Up to date on 4-way (Flu/Tet), de-worming, hoof trim, dental. Well behaved for farrier, vetting. When turned out she is easy to halter (doesn't try to avoid me) and take back to the barn. Has respectful stall manners and is tidy in her stall and paddock area. For riding, Portia appreciates a rider with soft hands and a balanced seat. Where you look is where she goes, when in sync with her rider. Portia has been used by different ages and levels of riders since we've had her, with supervision and/or lessons at our private barn. Well behaved in hand, grooming, tacking up, mounting/dismounting, etc. I'd like to see Portia with a more advanced rider that can ride her regularly all year round. Use to full potential, do her justice. Portia enjoys attention and will thrive with a dedicated partner. An assortment of blankets, leather halter with name engraved, neck cover, leg wraps, misc., go with her. Your own pre-purchase exam is welcome, along with your own trainer's evaluation, etc. When Portia leaves our barn, we want new owner/s to be tickled pink with her. No trades, etc. Please call (three-six-zero)366-3631 (landline, no text), for more information. Thank you.
