2023 Black Oldenburg filly by Cadeau Noir (Christ/DeNiro) out of Royal Moment (Furstenball/Starlight). Zena is as pretty as they come! Beautiful conformation and movement make this filly a standout not to mention her striking black coat! Her pedigree is nothing to blink at either. She is by the impressive stallion Cadeau Noir who is currently showing Grand Prix in the international dressage arena with scores to the mid-70’s. He has been producing Premium and Champion foals and bringing top prices in the Elite Foal Auctions in Germany. On the Gestuet-Bonhomme website it says, “Cadeau Noir’s foals are typically distinguished by a beautiful type as well as first-class movements with energetic hindquarters.”. Zena is clearly an excellent example of this remark!
Going back to the bloodlines, Zena’s dam is by the well-known Furstenball who “was the proud winner at the stallion licensing, performance test winner, National Champion of the 5 year old dressage horses in 2011 and confirmed the following year in 2012 his quality with high rankings in the state and national championships as well as at the World Cup the six year old dressage horses. In addition, highly successful descendants (Champion Stallion and price spike OL-Approved 2012 champion foal at the German Foal Championships Lienen, top foals on various auction sites) shine in all these years.” Furstenball currently has 99 approved sons and 20 listed offspring showing Grand Prix! The rideability of his offspring make them highly sought after by professional and AA riders alike.
Further down in the dam’s dam-sire is Starlight who is quite special as well. In 2007 “Starlight was awarded the USDF All-Breeds Dressage Sport Horse Breeding “Horse Of The Year.” Starlight also won the USDF All-Breeds Mature Stallion ‘Horse Of The Year,’ the German Oldenburg Verband Mature Stallion ‘Horse of the Year’ and the German Oldenburg Verband Dressage Sport Horse Breeding ‘Horse of the Year’ Honors. Also in 2007 Starlight proved he was also a capable young performance horse and captured the Reserve Champion spot in the Open Prix St. Georges for the German Oldenburg Verband” placing in the top three 15 times with scores over 70%.
