Registered Canadian Warmblood Hanoverian seeking his perfect home or nearby lease (western WA). Vinny is a 12 yr old, 16.3 chestnut gelding with jumping, dressage, eventing and trail riding experience. Last 2 years focused on classical riding training. Intermediate rider would be the best fit, he looks to his handler for confidence. He is very bold over fences and has so much power so he is not for someone without experience.
Has a hot/reactive side, but if he trusts you, he will eventually listen and follow your lead. He has improved his own emotion regulation, and will continue with the right handler. His spook is in place, no bolt or rearing. Has done a crow hop under saddle a few times (mostly from lack of steering on riders part). Has been ridden by teens and adults. Is a goofy in-your-pocket big dog around the farm. Currently lives with access to stall, paddock and track around pasture with friends 24/7. Prefer a rider that focuses on classical riding (not forcing him into a frame) to keep him strong. Requires some maintenance aka serviceably sound.
Why: he is too athletic (Voltaire is his grand sire!) for me at my age and needs an athletic rider. He’s the horse I rode in my 20s not the one I need in my 50s after having decades off from riding.
He is being brought back into work/fitness because he was in Spokane with a trainer in full training for three months but returned home underweight, under muscled, and a respiratory virus (that has since cleared). Located in Western Washington. Current x-rays on file. The right home is my priority.
