Carousel is a beautiful 9-year-old Palomino mare with Parelli and Anderson natural horsemanship training. She is broke to ride but could benefit from a confident intermediate to advanced rider to brush up her skills. I am only looking to find her a new home because we have too many animals at our property which is causing our fields to erode. Otherwise I would keep her. The good: - Carousel is a such an easy keeper. She is turned out to pasture and only requires hay supplementing in the winter. I have never grained her except for treats sometimes. She respects fences and to my knowledge has never been in a stall. She drinks straight from our creek and I only fill water troughs when the creek isn't actively running or I see algae. She is so incredibly low maintenance. - She has lovely ground manners. Is easy to halter, groom, trim feet, etc. FYI she loves the hose and loves water. She loves to get baths. - She has a clean bill of health. I’ve never had any issues with her. Last seen from a vet in the past year. - She gets along well with our donkey and two geldings. She is the herd BOSS and an excellent protector. She will push around our cows if/when I need her to. She would be an excellent cutting horse if trained to do so. - She is a beautiful Palomino color and overall a great looking horse. The bad: - Carousel was my first horse and I fell victim to green rider/green horse trap. I’ve now found a horse that better suits me and I don't have the time to work them both. Last ridden at the beginning of Fall on a trail and was worked a little over last summer. She has been broke to ride but will sometimes have mare-ish behavior if you ask her to do something she doesn’t want to. She needs to be ridden and worked with consistently. I would recommend someone with a firm but gentle hand. - General mare-ish behavior AT TIMES. - that’s pretty much it. She has potential but I don’t have the time to give her the training she would need to bring her up to par. Lastly, I got her from the ranch that bred her. She is not a registered foxtrotted. I have never gotten her to gait, but I am a beginner rider. Come meet her!
