How pretty is this girl?! Here is a beautiful, bold, willing and kind little horse that loves to please. Maya is a joy to have around. The Good: In the barn, she has no bad habits. She has excellent ground manners and is easy to handle. She is not marish, and enjoys attention. She goes out with a mixed herd and minds her own business. She doesn’t care about boys, and causes no drama. She is easy to catch and walks up to you in the pasture. Maya stands on the cross ties to be groomed and tacked. She enjoys being pampered. She is safe with dogs. She is barefoot and a very easy keeper with no maintenance. On the trails, Maya has a lovely paced walk, and is not a slow poke. Maya rides western, english, and bareback. Maya loads onto any trailer and trailers well. She ties to the trailer and stands patiently. Maya has a wonderful kind personality. Maya is a very intelligent girl, and aims to please. She has a work ethic and learns very fast! She is very sensitive, is a good listener, and aims to please. She isn't hard to educate and has the ability to hear the smallest of cues. The Bad: She's green. She needs a trainer who will listen and bring her along and help her feel more confident. She wouldn't be a good horse for a kid at the moment unless your kiddo is a pretty handy ride with a trainer. I've found that she goes just fine outside on the trail. We've had no issues there but things don't always go as well in the ring. Admittedly, she's probably had less work this winter than she's used to so I'm working on bringing her back into work. When we got her, she wasn't great with her feet but she will pick them all up respectfully now. We bought her as a therapy horse and we find that while her high sensitivity would eventually make her a fantastic riding and show horse, the emotional therapy arena would be a little overwhelming for her. I'm a mom, working 3 jobs and raising 2 little kids. She's staying at my mom's therapy barn and since she can't be used in that setting as expected and I don't have time to train her multiple days a week, I'm not sure that it's fair to her for me to keep her. I really like her. She connects easily and follows me around like a puppy. If you stand and brush her forehead she'll about fall asleep on you. She's really a sweet, neat little horse. She needs someone who has the time to give her undivided attention and the education she deserves. I'm kind of on the fence about letting her go honestly. I'd love to keep her but I know she'd have way more fun with someone looking to use her more. She just had her teeth floated, is barefoot, and has a current coggins and PPE. She's called Secret in the posted video because that's what she was called when we got her but secrets have a bad connotation in a therapy setting so we changed it. You can call her what you like. Price negotiable to the right home.
