Bluebird Lane Merlin is a coming 5-year-old gelding who was used as a breeding stallion for the last few years. He's now gelded and looking for a performance partner. Merlin is the sweetest and most athletic Fjord I've ever trained. He aims to please his person 150%, loves to move, and is an absolute joy to ride. He is going well under saddle with w/t/c and has been ridden outside as well as in the arena. He hasn't ridden in groups yet or been hauled off the property, but he is ready for that next step. He is super light in the bridle, works well off seat/leg aids, and has a good whoa. Merlin was bred for dressage but would love any discipline. He has done a bit of free jumping and LOVED it. He has been ridden by adults and also teenagers. He would do well as a pony-club mount for a bold teen or a dressage/eventing/western mount for an adult. He's very forward, bold, and can MOVE. He is not a typical lazy fjord, he is much more like a sport pony, although he has a lovely, sweet and pretty chill nature. I'm sure he would do well in driving as well if someone wanted to go that direction. I can't say enough good things about this guy - I'd keep him if I was looking for a performance horse for myself. But, with the breeding program, I just don't need a gelding.
