Toria is a little mare with a big body. She had a late start to riding at about 8 yrs (low miles), and was a proven broodmare before her current human purchased her. She has been going under saddle for several years now with her beginner adult amateur owner. She is proficient at walk, trot, canter, basic lateral movements, loves cavallettis, and has recently started delving into some WE. She is not a beginner’s pony, so her owner has made the hard decision that they just aren't a fit to bring her riding and Toria's training to their fullest potential. Toria would be thrilled to return to life as a broodmare. She would also do well for a calm, confident, and consistent intermediate rider, or possibly a more advanced beginner with a trainer who can guide her further. She can be noise sensitive in indoor settings and needs someone to continue working through this - groundwork has been helping build her confidence. She does require some maintenance to her hind legs if living in a wet climate - cleaning and shaving during the mud season because she is prone to hyperkeratosis, otherwise she is sound and goes barefoot. Toria is sweet and easy to handle on the ground, good for the farrier, vet, worming, loading, etc. She goes well on trails with another horse (leading and following), and she has been progressively working on going out alone. She is more whoa than go, but with added conditioning, can step up the pace. Price is negotiable. A happy home is the most important consideration, so owners may consider a long term care lease.
