Jasper is a 15.3hh 4 y/o dun ApHC gelding with a wonderful personality. He has been shown at breed and open shows in the ranch horse classes by a novice amateur. He is also ready to show in hunter under saddle, hunt seat equitation, and horsemanship, and could show in western pleasure with more refinement at the lope. He has seen the barrel pattern and could make a lower level quiet, safe gaming horse if that is what you prefer. He is great on trails, crossing water, bridges, brush, logs, etc. He has been used to check fence, push and sort cows. He clips, bathes, loads, and stands for the farrier. He is an easy going, lazy, push style horse. He is not for a beginner unless ridden consistently with a knowledgeable trainer for guidance. He needs a strong rider to correct him as he still has a young mind. He has potential to be a wonderful all arounder with someone who can dedicate the time to help him reach his full potential. On a personal note, I am a beginner who has been riding for less than a year and a half. I got Jasper as my first horse back when I lived in Indiana and was taking riding lessons every week. He was absolutely wonderful for me during that time and helped me grow immensely as a rider. When my family decided to move back to California, I brought Jasper with me hoping I could handle a 4 y/o horse on my own, and maintain his training. But since we arrived in January, I have only been able to ride maybe once or twice a week, and he has gone a bit backwards. When I began searching for my first horse, I just wanted an older trail horse and was convinced to get something way fancier. Jasper is a show horse, and I have no desire to show right now. I am open to trades. I want an older horse that is safe and reliable on the trail, and that I can learn to rope off of. Jasper is up to date on shots, Coggins, and deworming. He is eligible for 3 more sets of papers (Pinto, American and International Buckskin Horse Associations). I have plenty more pictures and videos of him.
